Agenda review and approval of minutes

The agenda was approved by consensus with a request to ask a question (Sissi Stove Lorentzen). The minutes from the September meeting were approved by consensus.

Pilot model reviews (continued from September)

3.1 Pilot finding models (Undesirable food choices, Impaired ability to prepare food/meals, and Self monitoring deficit)

Review and discuss modeling of findings from pilot and determine next steps.

Unbalanced diet: A motion passed to recommend to the NCPRO Committee that the current NCPT concept be renamed Unbalanced diet and be mapped to the Unbalanced diet concept in SNOMED.

Impaired ability to prepare foods/meals: A motion passed to recommend to the NCPRO Committee to clarify the current concept by renaming it Difficulty preparing food for eating and mapping to the SNOMED CT concept Difficulty preparing food for eating. A similar clarification would be needed for the NCPT synonym which contains food/meals as well. 

Self monitoring deficit: The members supported a submission to SNOMED of Able with difficulty to comply with self monitoring with parent concept: 304900007 |Difficulty complying with treatment (finding)| . The present mapping to 444781000124106 |Noncompliance with self-monitoring regimen (finding)| is not sufficient to capture the complete concept.

Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation Validated Tools

Next step: NCPRO Committee

Update members about validated assessment tools and SNOMED CT.

The validated assessment tools, MNA (assessment scale) and PG-SGA (assessment scale), and the concepts for SGA score (observable entity), MNA score (observable entity) and PG-SGA score (observable entity) will be included in SNOMED CT in the January 31, 2021 release. SGA (assessment scale) already exists in SNOMED CT.

Question regarding concepts included in SNOMED

The front page of the Nutrition Care Process Terminology Clinical Project Group has updated status information about mappings to SNOMED.
