Welcome/Roll Call

  • Reminder that calls are recorded

  • Nursing CRG

C. Papoutsakis

The group was welcomed to the call. Several members of the NCPT CPG attended the Nursing CRG meeting last week to initiate a discussion and collaboration between the groups on nutrition concepts. Members of the Nursing CRG joined this call in furtherance of this goal.

2

Agenda review and approval of minutes

2.1 February 2021 minutes

C. Papoutsakis

By consensus the attendees approved the agenda as presented and the February 2021 minutes.

3

July 2021 release update

3.1 Release plan and update

D. Pertel

The most recent information on the progress for submitting concepts into and remodeling of concepts for the July 2021 release was presented. A summary can be found here. All proposed targets are on track to be met.

4

April CPG meeting and education session

C. Papoutsakis

D. Pertel

The April meeting will be at on the 3rd Monday of the month as usual and will be extended by 30 minutes to accommodate education about the work of the group in addition to the typical content of a working meeting. The meeting coincides with the SNOMED business meeting that occurs in April. Additional attendees from other working groups are invited to attend. More on the meeting can be found here: https://www.snomed.org/news-and-events/events/business-meeting

Two questions were raised and @Suzanne Santamaria is seeking clarification: If the time of the meeting can be changed to 13:00 and will the same link be used for the meeting. Further information will be shared with the group as information becomes available.

5

Niacin discussion

5.1 Niacin concepts

D. Pertel

The members recommended inclusion of the substance Nicotinic acid (substance) (with synonym Niacin) be included on the observables for estimated and measured intake of niacin in 24 hours.

6

Pilot finding modeling review

6.1 Pilot finding modeling

6.2 Pilot tracking

D. Pertel

Predicted excessive energy intake (NI-1.5)

  • The attendees supported addition of the attribute and value, Interprets → 787787004 |Energy intake (observable entity)|.

Intake of carbohydrates inconsistent with needs (NI-5.8.3) and Intake of types of fats inconsistent with needs (NI-5.5.3)

  • These map to 444741000124100 |Composition of nutritional intake of carbohydrate inappropriate (finding)| and 1141823004 |Composition of nutritional intake of fat and oil inappropriate (finding)|, respectively.

  • The group agreed with leaving the modeling as is and recommended inactivation of the current concepts and creating new concepts with FSN Composition of nutritional intake of X (eg, carbohydrate, fat and oil) inconsistent with requirement (finding). The concern with the current SNOMED CT concepts is that ‘inappropriate’ is associated with judgment and imprecise, whereas our concept is Carbohydrate inconsistent with nutritional requirement.

  • They also agreed with submit NCPT concept as synonym.

Limited access to nutrition related supplies (NB-3.3)

  • In review of the NCPT, Limited access to nutrition related supplies (NB-3.3), which is mapped to 445271000124104 |Nutrition impaired due to limited access to nutrition related supplies (finding)|, the group agreed that the NCPT concept is not semantically equivalent to the SNOMED CT concept.

  • Thus the group supported creation of a new concept, Limited access to nutrition related supplies, with modeling consistent with what the group would consider as a sibling concept 733423003 |Food insecurity (finding)|.
