Pilot Test

The first concept reviewed was the mapping and modeling for the NCPT concept, Collaboration with other providers (RC-1.4). Currently this is mapped to 445101000124100 |Collaborating in nutrition therapy (procedure)| with consideration of mapping it to a Liaising concept. Further information about the distinction between Collaborating and Liaising will be investigated for the next meeting.

the concepts of Obese (finding) and Overweight (finding) were discussed. No changes are recommended for Overweight (finding). Obese (finding) and Obesity (disorder) exist and the recommendation supports review of this hierarchy by the Nutrition Clinical Reference Group (CRG) once it is formed to ensure that these concepts are accurate. There is also a related JIRA ticket: https://snomed.atlassian.net/browse/IHTSDO-264

For BMI, the recommendations supported for submission to CRS are:

• Revise parent to Is A 248326004 |Body measure (observable entity)| because BMI is not a body composition measure

• Add Characterizes →698094009 |Measurement of body mass index (procedure)|. However, with the ongoing QI project for measurement procedures, it is possible that this concept may be inactivated. 

With the work accomplished today, 88 of 89 concepts in the pilot test have been reviewed.

Select members of the group were asked to verify the release of the 75 new concepts added to SNOMED CT from NCPT in August. The instructions and online document with the concepts and assignments were reviewed.
