Die Richtlinie orientiert sich am Abschnitt Antibodies and antigens aus dem Editorial Guide. Grundsätzlich sollen Synonyme sowohl mit der Abkürzung IgX als auch mit Immunglobulin X angeboten werden, wobei bei der Ausschreibung zusätzlich der Term "Antikörper" ergänzt wird.
