  • Consistent definitions and model needed for CVA (stroke), occlusive stroke, ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, hemorrhagic infarct

Enhancements to proposed model suggested:

  1. Define CVA using GCIs (ie. due to hemorrhage or due to ischemia)
  2. Define occlusive CVA as due to occlusion of specific arteries e.g. 299717005 |Carotid and/or cerebral and/or subclavian structures (body structure)| i.e create occlusion of 299717005 |Carotid and/or cerebral and/or subclavian structures (body structure)|
  3. Review modeling of Occlusive CVA due to thrombus/embolus for concordance with proposed models
