Secondary gout

Hyperuricemia removed as a defining relationship for gout

• Manifestations of gout (gouty tophus and gouty arthritis) would be modeled with 2 role groups representing simple co-occurrence.

• Above will need discussion with @Jim Case separately or as part of EAG call.

Autoimmune and hypersensitivity disorders

A model is presented for autoimmune diseases with know hypersensitivity mechanisms

• Model requires addition of new pathological processes under hypersenstivity process (qualifier value) and Abnormal immune process (qualifier value)

• Domain knowledge required for accurate modeling

• Template for autoimmune disease to include optional pathological process= <<hypersensitivity process (qualifier value) relationship

Editorial policy for simple co-occurrence

Should simple co-occurrence be restricted at this point to just multisystem rheumatologic diseases (and other multicomponent syndromes)

• Need to update to state simple co-occurrence will initially apply only to multisystem rheumatologic diseases
