Foreign body left in body/body structure during procedure

@Bruce Goldberg

  • Foreign body concepts represented as both disorders and events

Maintain current distinction between foreign body related disorders and events. OK to submit either based on intent.
Suggestion was made to change Foreign body left in body/body structure during procedure to Foreign body left in body/body structure after procedure as this situation would be recognized only after the procedure was completed. For surgical procedures, this would enable these to be classified as postoperative complications
It is now apparent however that most of Foreign body left in body/body structure during procedure concepts are events which are primitive. Adding after procedure to these would offer no advantage
Moving Foreign body to physical object hierarchy would require new model to link the foreign body to the disorder signifying its presence in the body
A tracker item has previously been created for Foreign body. For time being no changes to the current organization and model for these concepts will be made
