Accidental injuries

• Not all accidental events are due to traumatic events.

• Distinction between accidental as meaning unintended occurrence and accident as in ICD-10 meaning an external cause of injury

• Alternate model due to accidental event +during accidental event

Reconsider fetal-maternal modeling

• Need to re-review @Phil Brown's previous proposal for agreement on how to proceed

• The Netherlands are having translation issues with concepts that could be considered either fetal or maternal findings/disorders (and also affecting the Situation hierarchy). The SCT to ICD-10 map also has inconsistencies. There are trackers:

  An example given was 199549009 |Fetus with drug damage - delivered (disorder)|. They're asking if the concepts say 'delivered,' does this mean it's a concept for the mother's record? Otherwise, if a fetus is delivered, then it is no longer a fetus; however, it's a child of 70591005 |Fetal disorder (disorder)|.

  I think I remember Australia having recent issues with this as well. Is this on an upcoming work plan? ECE? I don't see anything in the Ed Guide regarding subject of record in this context?

    In relation to the concept Fetus with drug damage - delivered - I suspect it originates or relates to O35.5 (I didn’t have access to the cross references I think on the SCT browser)

    Maternal care for (suspected) damage to fetus by drugs

     But I think it means that the drug damage occurred whilst the delivered neonate was intra-uterine i.e. a fetus; 

    So the concept probably means Disorder of neonate Due to Drug damage to foetus
