Discussion of proposed model for equipment/device problems with regard to equipment/device observables

  • @Daniel Karlsson unable to attend call.

    • Discussion tabled for a future call

  • @Former user (Deleted) to supply EU definitions of equipment and device. @Bruce Goldberg to examine how these may differ from WHO definitions

https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/medical-devices/regulatory-framework_en

  • Above link does not contain definitions

  • @Former user (Deleted) will attempt to locate a document that does contain the EU definitions of device and equipment

3

Pathological process vs. pathogenesis

@Jim Case

@Bruce Goldberg

  • Review and revision of the editorial guidance for use of PATHOLOGICAL PROCESS and the associated qualifier value set.

  • Coordinate with Event-condition-episode changes (Structure-disposition-process proposal), and coordinate with ASSOCIATED-MORPHOLOGY modeling.

4

Allergies

@Bruce Goldberg

  • Modeling of allergy to combined drugs discussed. Using GCIs results in allergy to each component being subsumed by allergy to the combined drug which seems more beneficial than the current state where allergy to the combined drug is subsumed by allergy to both components. Further discussion needed to determine whether the former situation is correct.

    • Discussion from March 8 Allergy CRG call

      • Some concern that with revised model an allergy to e.g. amoxicillin + clavulanic acid would not trigger an alert in someone allergic to amoxicillin

      • Further discussion to take place during Allergy CRG face to face meeting in London

  • @Former user (Deleted) clarified current work involving retirement of allergy to inappropriate groupers be made known by implemeters involved in decision support.

    • Release notes would be acceptable

    • Release notes prepared by @Former user (Deleted)

Out of scope |Allergy to X (disorder)| concepts, as identified by the Allergy/Hypersensitivity and Intolerance Clinical Reference Group, have been inactivated. See the CRG Confluence space for additional details.

Device infections

@Bruce Goldberg

@Jim Case

Draft editorial guidelines

Awaiting approval by @Jim Case

@Yongsheng Gao suggested a more appropriate finding site for prosthetic joint infection would be joint region structure (would need to be created) rather than joint structure.

Note that above approach may not be generalizable to other device infections e.g. 240272004 |Bone fixation device infection (disorder)| which inherits a parent of Infection of bone (disorder) in spite of the descendants of 240272004 being external fixation infections. Requires further discussion.

Sepsis model

@Bruce Goldberg

@Jim Case

Addition of pathological process dysregulated host response (a child of abnormal immune response) in test model results in sepsis inferring a parent of Disorder of immune function. Group felt this was OK.

Still Need approval by Jim Case
