Continue discussion as to whether:

1. Secondary X is a useful grouper as opposed to just placing these under X

2. Is proposed name to disambiguate the meaning of a secondary disorder implying a causal relationship acceptable

   1. Disease causally related to an entity other than its principal etiology (disorder)
      Example Gout causally related to an entity other than its principal etiology (disorder)

Decision reached to consider retiring Secondary X disorders and moving these under X disorder.

Re-examination of proposed model using pathological process

• Questions again arose as to meaning of a non-traumatic pathological process (any pathological process that is not traumatic?) as well as of meaning of injury/damage itself

• Alternate models discussed such as creating a top level concept of non-traumatic injury and defining by use of due to and causative agent relationships to appropriate etiologies based on meaning of traumatic and non-traumatic injuries

Modeling of cerebrovascular accident

• Non-GCI concept model approved pending resolution of how to assert the fact that a CVA is a non-traumatic brain injury (see above)

Allergy topics

• Hypersensitivity/Allergy/Intolerance (to substance?)

• Allergic contact hypersensitivity

  • Should we include after exposure to X event as well as causative agent for situations in which X is other than a substance and the allergen substance has been elucidated?

    • Complication +/- sequela?

• Should allergy/hypersensitivity/intolerance concepts always have a causative agent to substance relationship?

  • Will defer on this pending on how this will impact future models for allergy/hypersensitivity/intolerance to products and devices

• Modeling allergic contact dermatitis to living organisms for which a causative substance derived from the organism is known will be modeled using due and after exposure to the organism event and causative agent to organism-derived substance relationships and will be considered to be sequelae but not complications.
