• Addition of during and during and/or after roles to associated with role hierarchy

  • Proposed during and/or after role as it applies to perioperative complications discussed with anesthesia SIG. Feeling is that perioperative complications represent complications occurring during a time period surrounding surgery, that is occurring before, during and or after surgery and not necessarily caused by the surgery itself.

  • Dos complication of surgery and surgical complication imply different things?

• Interim proposal to model combined disorders with a causal association between conditions in order to support ICD-11 harmonization with SNOMED CT, as X due to Y and document co-occurrence if required separately. See formal proposal by PBR

• Should interim model (model all combined disorders with a causative association as x due to y (with appropriate guidance for querying and documenting in an EHR) be the final solution?

  • Should this be modeled as Ileus of small intestine co-occurrent and due to gallbladder calculus or as Ileus of small intestine caused by gallstone?
