Proposal to remove the Release Notes PDF file from Releases

We are now getting closer to using the new Release Notes Management System (RNMS) in Production, first of all for the International Edition product, and then subsequently rolling out to all Products.

In preparation for this, I'd like to start discussions on the utility of the Release Notes PDF file that we currently publish as one of the deliverables with each of our Release packages.

The preference would be to move to online-only Release notes, removing the hard copy from our Release repositories. This allows for more flexibility, especially if updates are required post-release.

However, if the PDF files still have utility for people, then we could in theory continue to curate and publish the PDF file alongside each release package? The business case needs to be strong enough however in order to retain the PDF files, as there are maintenance overheads as well as continuity issues (where post-release changes are required), and so we need to document the use cases where appropriate.

Please have a think about this in preparation for the October meetings, so that we can discuss in full and make a positive decision in the same meeting if possible.
