• Elisabet: If we make food and nutrition parallel to medications, how does that inform what we are doing.

  • Penni: Consider coordinating with pharmacy group on administration/intake issue

  • Proposed hierarchy document:

    • Dietary intake

      • Elisabet: dietary is the sum of food intake and beverage intake.

        • Dietary intake

          • Food Intake

            • Solid Food

            • (syn. Semi-Solid) Pureed food

            • Liquid Food (syn. Beverage)

              • Milk

  • Qualifier values: states of matter suggested by Penni

  • What about non-nutritive foods (diet soda)

    • Elisabet: all beverages put into body are food.
