  • Review of submitted terms and requested clarifications

  • Selection of terms for submission

Minutes:

  1. Review of IDDSI Terms

    1. Naming system is important and different terms are useful

    2. Suggestion: words as FSN, color as synonym?

      1. FSN could not be “Level two mildly thick” without definition

      2. Pink cannot be a synonym because it cannot stand alone

    3. J. Case – Color is very non-specific and so is very problematic

    4. Len – Early days for these terms, foodservice groups are aligning themselves to use these terms. Maybe it is too early to go into SNOMED?

      1. Danes don’t use color codes

      2. Swedish perspective, IDDSI is not used

        1. Donna – is Denmark adopting the IDDSI but excluding the color, or just using their own system?

        2. Using their own system

        3. Is it the same system as Sweden

        4. Is it reasonable to have one term for texture modification?

        5. Texture modification is used by all, why not just use that

    5. J. Millar – IP Issues?

      1. J. Case – These are very specialized terms for a very specialized use-case, and so should not be in SNOMED.

        1. SNOMED cannot identify authoritative sources

        2. IDDSI wants to maintain ownership.

      2. Jane – NCPT Should not discuss licensing with IDDSI for SNOMED

        1. Tina will work on setting up a dialog between IHTSDO and IDDSI
          8. Tina - Tabling discussion of Malnutrition Terms for now

  2. Next meeting is at the same time as the SNOMED Expo

    1. Will plan to meet in November
