Introduction to Ophthalmology CRG

Anthony provided some history of work with SNOMED CT, starting in the UK. Primarily looked at diagnosis terms related to Glaucoma. Now want to ramp up the work working with global community.

Ways of working - Confluence

Ian

Ian talked about use of confluence and it was agreed it should be renamed 'Eye Care' to encourage a wider group of stakeholders.

Scope of work

Anthony

Continue with Glaucoma including Paediatric diagnoses, Signs, Procedures and Medications and ensuring the content is maintained over time. The progress to other areas than Glaucoma.

Further to work done to date, it was agreed that Ian/Anthony complete the glaucoma diagnoses work and it be reviewed by the group

SNOMED International Clinical Engagement

Ian/Jane

Discussions around requesting terms and processing them with justifications and definitions which enable the correct modelling. Discussions about number of requirements and managing as a project.

Further to work done to date, it was agreed that Ian/Anthony complete the glaucoma diagnoses work and it be reviewed by the group.

Sally agreed to start work on examination findings, based on analysing content in EPIC and identifying key information important for coding.
