Question: Has there been more work done on Nursing occupations, not every role is in SNOMED. If I want to be specific in areas like Mental Health, Intellectual disability, midwifery and Paediatrics should we be authoring a new Clinical Nurse Specialist parent role for each area. As Clinical Midwife Specialist, Clinical Paediatric Nurse Specialist and so on. As the list would be never ending with all of these area Specialties.

Any advice from the group would be very beneficial.

From SNOMED-CT Editorial Guide:

Occupation

Interpretation of the meaning of various occupation codes is jurisdictionally specific. International occupation classifications generally do not go to the detailed level that is often required. Job titles are very idiosyncratic and in some cases do not represent the actual occupation, but a ranking or seniority within an occupation.  Occupations should be added to national extensions.
