Jane

  • Nursing SIG in existence prior to formation of IHTSDO

  • Input to previous work with ICN, also other specific work items

  • Clinical engagement strategy led to change to CRG as key discussion forums

  • Quiet period for nursing in terms of engagement, but now re-emerging with a ficus on the use of terminologies to support nursing care in the EHR

  • Drivers for collaboration

  • Progress to date

Nick/Jane

4

Focus of the Nursing CRG going forwards

  • Focus on nursing use of EHRs and  implementation

    • 5 country strategy example (UK)

  • Nursing input into other projects

    • Diabetes project

  • Group leadership

  • Meeting schedule

Jane/Ian

Nick

  • Focus of Nursing CRG - implementation, building on the content work undertaken as part of the SNOMED/ICN agreement

  • Example of approach from the UK & Ireland

  • Time to work on exploitation of the terminologies focusing on nursing contributions to the EHR, alongside requirements for specific nursing information, patient care

  • SNOMED International commencing a Sex & Gender Project Group (task and finish), would be helpful to have nursing representation on group but must have relevant expertise.

  • Similarly, nursing input into the Diabetes project would also be beneficial

  • Group leadership - for discussion at next meeting

  • Meeting schedule - suggested monthly, for final agreement at next meeting
