• Additional criteria applied to create a initial subset of 9 content trackers.

• Briefing Note created and presented to the Member Forum to seek endorsement for addition of these to the Content Work Plan

Current modelling and naming policy for procedures connected to detecting HPV and/or pre-cancerous/cancerous cells in the cervical region

• Currently using procedure concepts such as 171149006 |Screening for malignant neoplasm of cervix (procedure)|. Samples collected are not necessarily used for cytology. Specimens are collected in a “liquid-cytology tube”. This is first analysed for HPV DNA via PCR. If positive, that same sample is sent for screening for pre-cancerous cells. If negative, no cytological testing is completed. “Smear” in descriptions is also often not true. It is also getting more common for self-collection.

• Similar content from Australia was unable to be promoted to International Edition. This was discussed Comment on the rigidity of Editorial Policy / conflict with implementation requirements and 2026-04-15 - CMAG Meeting Specific screening concepts would not be able to be used for patients who are having tests because they are experiencing symptoms rather than being part of a screening programme.
