Introductions
@Rory Davidson welcomed the group to the first meeting of the Tooling User Advisory Group (TUAG). There was a round of introductions. RDA said he set up the AG in order to get feedback from users and the wider community, to understand where they’re going and how they could work on things on together, and to provide a place for testing of the tools.
Meeting Logistics
@Rory Davidson suggested that the regular meetings take place on the first Monday of the month, with the next teleconference being in December. The group decided to move the start time to 12 UTC (from 11 UTC) when daylight savings time ends so that the time of day for most of the participants would not shift.
TUAG Scope
@Rory Davidson showed his slide on scope, which had the following points:
Updates on tools and upcoming plans
Forum to bring and discuss new features on existing and future tools through confluence
Peer to peer help/guidance across the group
Involvement in beta testing when time allows
Also to be the “ambassadors” of tooling to the MF and GA and back to the NRCs
Agenda should be driven by group, not IHTSDO
@Rory Davidson said he would be sending them documents and asking for feedback. @Former user (Deleted) said it would be useful for the group to look at the wider environment, beyond tooling. @Rory Davidson agreed that tooling was more than the tools, such as QA, enduring the release goes out on time, etc., but the group could not focus on everything.
@Rory Davidson answered other questions, stating that his other AG - the Software Development - was about the wider community of developers and the open source community, and the TUAG should indeed talk about features that could be added to the tools.
Confluence
@Rory Davidson went through the TUAG Confluence space for collaborations.
Agenda in Uruguay
@Rory Davidson said there would be 2 sessions: Monday afternoon (local time) and Tuesday morning. The draft agenda had the following items:
Status update/demo of tools
Requirements gathering on existing tools
Thoughts on other tools
@Rory Davidson noted that the AG members should drive the agenda, so he encouraged AG members to write their suggestions for agenda items in the remarks section of the Confluence meeting page.
Adjournment
RDA thanked the group and adjourned the meeting 41 minutes after the start.
