3 | Body Mass Index (BMI) findings Please review prior to mtg the body mass index findings spreadsheet Action @Elaine Wooler To post on forum questions for the group to support the review and revision of the BMI findings subhierarchy Action call for volunteers to provide as a small group input on how to reorganize this area | E. Wooler |
| Initial input is in the direction to have BMI as a stand-alone without interpretation words like overweight and obesity. For example in Asian populations the cut offs are different. A call for volunteer experts was made for this project.
|
4 | Additional malnutrition concepts, included in 2026 March release (procedure concepts for additional established/validated nutrition assessment tools such as SGA, PtG-SGA, MNA (long and short)):
| E. Wooler |
| Group would like to cross check the name for the MNA long version. Please email Elaine if you find something that needs updating. |
5 | NLM (National Library of Medicine) Request for Feedback from the Nutrition and Dietetics CRG From: John Snyder SNOMED International (SI) recently purposed reactivating the “Deficiency of (attribute)” concept to be used in modeling physiological disorders. The initial round of feedback resulted in a rework of the proposal because there was no symmetrical attribute to represent disorders caused by an excess of a substance or cell type in the body. SI has reworked the proposal and sent it back out for additional review and feedback. This change would make a clear distinction between evaluation measurement results, which are modeled using Interprets / Has interpretation attributes, and physiological disorders caused by a deficiency or excess of <X>.
The addition of these attributes may potentially have a significant impact on the modeling and classification of nutrition related disorders.
CRG is in support of the above proposal. No authoring has occurred as of yet. | J. Snyder/E.Wooler |
