• Can we  educate APA about SNOMED -  what it is, what it isn’t?

  • Value proposition of SNOMED to APA

• Discussed defining exactly what it is we (MABH-CRG) are asking APA for

  • @Former user (Deleted) noted that this is what APA wanted, and has worked towards with ICD

    • Need to spell out permissions explicitly

  • Group recognized the need to educate APA about SNOMED

• @Elaine Wooler raised the example of: terms somatic symptom disorder and the term bodily distress disorder

• @Monica Harry noted that attribution is not allowed in SNOMED

• Complete one or two sections completely

• Develop a PPT presentation for APA

  • Highlight the DSM terms – allow APA to see the end product and use cases

What does it mean to say a concept is internationally accepted?

We need buy-in from folks from other countries, but CRG currently largely comprised of folks from the US. 

• Does ICD11 represent the international perspective?

• Does DSM5 represent the US perspective only?
