Abstract

One of the key tasks for implementers of clinical systems is to design effective user interfaces to support search and data entry of clinical information.

This tutorial will provide advice on best practice design techniques for SNOMED CT enabled user interfaces.

Objectives

After attending this tutorial, the participant should be able to:

• Explain the importance of effective and efficient SNOMED CT search capabilities

• Describe techniques for constraining and extending searches using SNOMED CT

• Summarize techniques for improving and displaying search results

• Describe techniques for entering data using SNOMED CT
