In preparation for the upcoming ELAG meeting we hope that you will consider following questions related to the topics on the agenda.
What is your NRC doing to facilitate SNOMED CT education relevant to your national situation?
Are delays in entry to the Implementation course and/or Content course causing practical problems for adoption and deployment of SNOMED CT in your country?
What single change to our SNOMED CT E-Learning services would make the most cost-effective impact on SNOMED CT implementation in your country?
We appreciate a written response to this blog post, so that we can share your viewpoints across both ELAG meetings.

Answers for Switzerland:
We promote the online resources of IHTSDO as well. Besides we inform about current work and intentions on different stakeholder events with presentations.

Like Netherlands we would also appriciate a crash course for developers
In Canada:
We have created a pre-foundational courses (in French and in English) to introduce new user to SNOMED CT, and we are using the SNOMED CT Community Forum to provide more information that is more specific to Canada. We support any additional requests for Canadian specific information. We promote the online resources of IHTSDO as well.
The prioritisation process that implies a limited number of candidates can enter a course, did have an impact on some of our candidates which were differed to a next session
I have two items:
A structured course (with certificate) for implementing SNOMED CT. The course should cover different implementation approaches (terminology server, database, others) and oblige for minimal amount of terminology knowledge. Ideally this course does not take months, but is not a 2 days session either!
Access to the IHTSDO material without going through the 6 months course and without the certification
Answer for the Netherlands:
We promote the online resources of IHTSDO (documentation & e-learning). We yearly give one or two introduction trainings of half a day and on ad hoc basis we give presentations on SNOMED CT.
