• The ADA also has an update of their implementation guide on their work plan. Discussed the possibility that each guide (SNOMED International and ADA) could contain links/references to the other's guide.

• Radiology concepts update

• Approx. 72 general radiography requests remain. These are out-of-scope for the Radiology Content Working Group. Many of the 72 are out-of-scope for SNOMED CT.

• Mark J has proposed continuing with making the CRS requests himself, but if there are specific SME questions, we can pose these to the Radiology Content Working Group.

• Procedures project

• Future approach options:

  1. Continue active work trying to identify both concepts needed and clean up duplicate or obsolete concepts. Approach (international) specialty groups, provide them with the concepts we know of that apply to that group already in SNOMED and ask them for recommendations for additional concepts or further updating ones that already exist. Add to 2027 work plan.

  2. No further active work: as we have now established editorial guidelines, proven with use-cases, we will now model new concepts on demand.

  • Do we have all the necessary concepts for health information exchange?

    • HL7, etc.

    • (is this key for enhanced medical-dental integration)

    • Variability internationally?

• Group suggested leaving salivary diagnostic concepts for now. To review their requirement again next year.

• The group support the addition of “Laser treatment for periodontics” concepts.

• Group suggested leaving additional concepts for health information exchange until specific use cases had been identified.
