Most IHTSDO Confluence users do not need accounts. In contrast to IHTSDO's previous collaborative space ("Collabnet," or "TeamForge"), Confluence allows non-registered users to browse topics and delve into project spaces without logging in. You can participate in this IHTSDO Special Interest Group (SIG) without having a Confluence login.

So why would you need an account? Registered members of the SIG will have the opportunity to participate in the process of nominating and recommending the appointment of future SIG Chairs. If you wish to actively participate in this project - commenting on pages, marking off when you have completed an action, uploading documents for discussion, etc. - then you need an account. If so, please fill out the form on this page.

Confluence account application forms will be reviewed by an administrator to determine whether an account is necessary for the stated purposes.

Focus

The focus of this group is to provide an international platform for the sharing of experience and expertise in mapping between SNOMED CT and other clinical terminologies and classifications.

Future direction of the Mapping SIG

Please review the updated proposals for the future direction of this group. We wish to consult with all members over the next 4 weeks. There will be a discussion of the proposals at the February 8, 2016 meeting followed by voting for your preferred option by February 15, 2016. The proposal is attached to the page of the January 11, 2016 meeting.

Content Briefing Note: Substance and Medicinal Product role groupers

High-level role groupers in the Substance hierarchy have been intended to support the organization of the hierarchy based on roles. An example of such a role grouper is 373265006 |Analgesic (substance)|. Substance role groupers have been an issue in SNOMED CT for many years. Role based groupers are associated with a particular purpose or outcome. A role does not belong to a substance per se but instead is associated with a manufactured product and its usage.…

Forthcoming Changes for Hierarchy 363680008|Radiographic imaging Procedure (procedure)|and Descendants

The proposed changes are detailed in the attached briefing note, and relate to radiographic imaging Implementation of the content changes specified in this informational briefing note will commence in Q4 2023. The changes have been based on feedback recieved.

Focal Anatomical Seizure Content Changes - UPDATE

SNOMED International in collaboration with the The International League Against Epilepsy is working on improving the seizure and epilepsy content within the sub hierarchies of 313287004 |Seizure related finding (finding)| and 84757009 |Epilepsy (disorder)|. Resolution of the Evaluation procedure vs. Observable entity issue

The attached briefing note summaries the proposed resolution to the Observable entity and Evaluation procedure hierarchies. They were created in the early 2000s and have been maintained as separate hierarchies even though the content is overlapping in many areas. This has created confusion and inconsistency in how observation information is represented in record systems and in SNOMED CT.…

Inactivation of Concepts Specified Male/Female in Descriptions

The attached briefing note summaries the proposed changes to subtypes of 67770001 |Male mammary gland structure (body structure)| and 91532001 |Female mammary gland structure (body structure)| and their associated disorder and specimen concepts. Body structure concepts that specify male or female in descriptions and that are not unique to a specific sex (e.g. male/female breast) are to be considered for inactivation. There was a very interesting meeting of the Nursing Clinical Reference Group on 18 November with new attendees and a number of topics discussed - the recording is available on the Nursing CRG area.
