CMAG 2026 Work Plan

 

Describes the aims and objectives of the Content Managers Advisory Group (CMAG) throughout 2026.

Overall objectives

The main purpose of the Content Managers Advisory Group in 2026 is to provide SNOMED International with national perspectives on identified content topics and issues through provision of advice and feedback.  

Meetings

Online meetings

Teleconferences will be held four times a year (early February, June, late August, and early December) and also as required. 

Face-to-Face meetings (includes remote online attendance option)

The Content Managers AG plans to meet at both SNOMED International Business meetings during the year. 

April 2026 - Vienna, Austria (Hybrid event)

  • Business meeting scheduled 12th to 16th April 2026

  • CMAG plans to meet during the SNOMED International business meeting. 

    • The duration of the CMAG meeting to be determined.

Provision of national perspectives on current SNOMED International content projects and topics

Relevant current SNOMED CT content projects and topics as identified by the SNOMED International.

Items will be raised as relevant over the course of the year. For each item raised the deliverable will be input and/or feedback as required within mutually agreed timeframes.

Provision of input on the topic/s within set timeframes as agreed by the CMAG and relevant SNOMED International staff member/s.

Provision of national input on the user impact of the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group work items

The editorial decisions made by the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group as identified by the Chair of the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group.

 

Items will be raised as relevant over the course of the year. For each item raised the deliverable will be input and/or feedback as required within mutually agreed timeframes.

Provision of input on the topic/s within set timeframes as agreed by the CMAG and the Chair of the SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group.

Provision of information on past, current and future national content development activities

Past, current and future national content development activity information sharing to aid in reducing duplication of effort and assist in identification of internationally applicable content and content gaps.

  • Quarterly documentation of national content development activities 

  • A record of areas of content development of mutual interest to two or members leading to collaborative activities and outcomes of same.

A forum for discussion of national content topics and issues

Lateralised Imaging Project

Analysis of the lateralised imaging extension content to support efficient promotion of the internationally relevant concepts.

Creation of any required supporting concepts by the owner of lateralised imaging concept being promoted.

  • Provision of the analysis of the lateralised imaging extension concept.

  • Provision of the lateralised imaging concepts together with the required supporting concepts for promotion. Process for promotion TBC.

Last quarter 2025 to first quarter 2026 for review component.

IHTSDO Content Tracker Prioritisation

Prioritisation of the open IHSTDO content trackers from a Member perspective.

Check of closed uncompleted trackers for any that potentially should be reopened.

  • Provision of a list of the open content trackers in order of member priority for resolution.

  • Provision of a list of any closed content trackers that should be considered for reopening; together with use cases to support requests.

Communication

  • The Content Managers AG will enable two-way communication between the SNOMED International Content Team and its Members on areas relevant to SNOMED CT content development.

  • The primary route for communications will be the Content Managers AG Confluence Space, with AG Meetings schedules as per above, and as required.

  • Communications to the Content Managers AG will by default, be publicly accessible on the AG Confluence Space.

  • Information that is not for public view may also be shared on pages that are accessible to Content Managers AG members only. Requests for closed areas must be sent to cri@snomed.org prior to posting materials.

Criteria for measuring success

The key criteria for success of the Content Managers AG in 2026 will be related to the timely provision of advice and feedback to support the SNOMED International Content Development Roadmap and the 2026 Content Work Plan. The measures of success will relate to the achievement of the deliverables as set out in the 2026 activities section above. 

Turn around time for responses will be set at a minimum of 4 weeks.
