SNOMED CT Extensions Practical Guide

• LBI briefed the group on the document. Review planned to start in approximately 2 weeks with the review period about 4 weeks in length. Review comments preferred via the 'Feedback' button at the bottom of each page. Guide for review can be found at http://snomed.org/extpg.

QA - Pattern analysis

• Standing item

• Internal sub group meeting last week to discuss the QA strategy cleanup plan. Development is still in progress. Awareness other issues may be uncovered which may require adjustments to plan.

  • Content team survey on key areas for clean up. Results showed Clinical Finding - hierarchy as the main area.

  • All patterns (not just patterns 4 and 5) now planned for clean up. Will start in a few weeks. Batch work will be done later- after batch functionality ready.

  • Areas of content will be frozen for short periods to support this. Expect this to be iterative.

  • Communications for externals to be planned with regular updates to provide early visibility to members.

Disorder without disorder concepts - feedback on EAG discussion

• CMAG response: 2017 Use of concepts representing the presence of a disorder without a second disorder

• EAG meeting: 2018-01-26 Editorial Advisory Group Conference Call

  • Face to face in London focusing on Finding, Disorder and Situation concepts looking at a strategy to deal with these areas. Previous life phase work plus negation ties into this. A consistent approach is required.

  • Other topics included the lexical inconsistencies, in particular use of hyphens and the convention on the use of capitals at the start of a description. Infected prosthesis pattern also approved with addition to guidance planned.

  • Interested: Elaine Wooler, Daniel Karlsson, Elze de Groot (Unlicensed), Matt Cordell, Orsolya Bali (Unlicensed) Any further interest- please advise.

  • Slide deck attached to this page discussed. Elaine Wooler notes for UK focus was more the merge with the International Edition. There is some overlap with TRAG work on sharing of technical processes. Output would be good for newer NRC's.

  • Cathy Richardson to follow up with TRAG chair on technical processes.

  • Timing: Subgroup need to consider the timing and advise CMAG chairs on this, taking into account the TRAG group member requirements. Cathy Richardson and Elaine Wooler to touch base with group members.

• No tooling currently available. Before for further efforts are undertaken clarification on expected outcomes of this needed. Subgroup Linda Parisien, Elaine Wooler and Matt Cordell to set up a subgroup and explore this and bring back to the group. Matt Cordell will pull information together prior to group meeting.
